What To Do For Fourth Of July In SLU

  |     |   Events + Entertainment, Food + Drink, South Lake Union

The Fourth of July in Seattle is an epic time, and it’s just days away now! From fireworks to friends, festivities to feasting, there are so many reasons to love Independence Day in Seattle! How are you planning to celebrate 4th of July in South Lake Union? Are you joining the crowds to watch the Gas Works Park fireworks (like most of the city plans to go to)? Because if you don’t have plans yet, we’ve got an even better agenda for you…

Morning, first things first…

What better way to celebrate what makes our nation wonderful than heading over to the Seattle Center in the morning to cheer on the hundreds of new citizens being sworn in as Americans! Seattle epitomizes the joys of the Great American Melting Pot, and this annual celebration is a great way to kick off the Fourth!

Noontime…

Mid-day happy hours are still running throughout South Lake Union like any other Wednesday (see our guide to our favorite SLU happy hours in a previous blog here). And there are also some amazing specials at restaurants throughout town, including a few of our favorite all-American grub spots in South Lake Union. Then again, of course, you could just grill on the rooftop, since it would be a perfect segue into…

Evening!

What’s the Fourth of July without some fireworks in the sky?! Have a few friends up to the roof, grab some beers, and make it a great night in celebrating everything that makes America stand out! The Fourth of July fireworks in Seattle illuminate the sky over Lake Union around 10pm on Wednesday, the 4th. So just plan to skip the Gas Works Park crowds, since you’ve got the best view from the Cirrus rooftop anyway. Cheers!

And there you have it: the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day in South Lake Union, celebrating our country, staying local, and not breaking the bank! Did we miss anything? Be sure to upload your celebration pics to Instagram and tag us when you do! Happy 4th!
